The LactoCan project aimed to foster the development of new anti-Candida therapies by exploring the interactions between Lactobacillus species from the human microbiome and pathogenic Candida spp. The project sought to understand how these beneficial bacteria can modulate Candida overgrowth and contribute to the development of non-conventional antifungal strategies.
