Mira’s Lab at the XXIII Jornadas De Biologia De Leveduras Professor Nicolau Van Uden

Mira’s Lab will participate in the XXIII Jornadas de Biologia de Leveduras Professor Nicolau van Uden, taking place on 9–10 October 2026 at Hotel Termas da Curia, Portugal.

The meeting provides a forum for the scientific community working on yeast biology and, in this edition, broadens its scope to include research on other fungi. Over two days, researchers and students will have the opportunity to share their latest findings, exchange ideas and foster new collaborations across topics including genomics and evolution, biotechnology and synthetic biology, health, food and fermented beverages, drug and stress resistance, adaptation, cell death and ageing.

The scientific programme will also feature invited researchers from national and international institutions, including Jeffrey Smith (University of Virginia), Geraldine Butler (University College Dublin), Márcio Rodrigues (Instituto Carlos Chagas), Kyle Cunningham (Johns Hopkins University) and Isabel Sá-Correia (Instituto Superior Técnico).

Mira’s Lab will contribute to the scientific programme with research developed by members of our team. Nuno P. Mira is also a member of the Scientific Committee of this edition of the meeting.
